Situations that Require a Plumber

Plumbers can do more than simply tighten the screws of your kitchen pipes or seal leaks in your faucet. They are also equipped to handle a wide array of home repair services, such as unclogging drains, re-aligning pipes during bathroom renovations, water heater repair or even providing water heater solutions.

For your part, though, you should refrain from committing these simple everyday mistakes so that you don’t end up causing a problem to your plumbing system.

Improper use of the Garbage Disposal

While the machine is indeed able to grind the garbage down to bits, it doesn’t mean that it can take on just about anything. Items such as fruit peels and seeds can damage your garbage disposal, especially if these items are crammed down in big quantities at the same time.

Sometimes, the problem starts as soon as the disposal is installed. DIY homeowners tend to forget to take out the disposal plug, which connects the pipe to the dishwasher. Otherwise, the water line to the dishwasher will remain blocked, resulting in leaks.

Flushing Toys and Other Objects

If you have children at home, keep a keen eye out where they put their toys; otherwise you just might end up having a routinely clogged toilet, which can severely impact its functionality. Attempting to get it out yourself can only push the stuck object further back into the pipe, too, making the situation worse.

Fixtures as Hangers

Showerheads are not designed to designed to withstand extra weight hanging from them. If you use a showerhead to hang your shower caddies, you’ll end up with a broken shower head sooner rather than later. For all these issues, however, at least you can rest assured that you can rely on plumbers to get them fixed right for you.
